Born in Gaylord, Michigan in 1997, Cody Myre (ASCAP) is a composer of chamber and vocal music pursuing a bachelor’s of music with a major in music composition. His works have been premiered in Texas and across the United States. Cody takes inspiration from the everyday world, from the mundane to the existential, to create music that evokes thought. He currently studies under Dr. Kirsten Broberg at the University of North Texas, but has previously studied with composers Michael Smith and Louise Fristensky. As an active collegiate member of the Gamma Theta chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, Cody is committed to the advancement of music in America. When he is not composing, he spends his time arranging for and conducting various ensembles around the University.
