Joseph Conrad Reding II is a Violinist and Composer from Houston, TX, where he was introduced to the violin in Middle School. Immediately falling in love with it, he began pursuing music. He began composing in High School, resorting to Youtube as a resource for learning music theory and developing his ears by watching score-follower videos. The music of Polish composers Witold Lutoslawski, Krzysztof Penderecki, and Henryk Gorecki, minimalists Arvo Part, John Luther Adams, and Philip Glass, and Jazz music all serve as important influences in his writing. Joseph is currently based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, playing violin in a variety of genres and settings, including but not limited to Classical, Country, and Jazz. In addition to his career as a violinist, he is attending the University of North Texas, where he is pursuing a BM in Violin Performance and Jazz Studies (Performance Emphasis), having switched to Jazz Studies from Composition in his Junior year.
