Andrew Sharrock (b. 1994) is a Fairfax, VA based composer, trumpeter and educator. A native of Central Islip, NY on Long Island, he currently teaches band full time at Glasgow Middle School in Fairfax County Public Schools. Andrew has studied composition with Dr. Michael Nickens and Mark Camphouse and trumpet with Dr. Dennis Edelbrock and Kenny Rittenhouse.
As a composer, Andrew specializes in composing instrumental music, including works for chamber ensembles, concert band, marching band and solo brass instruments. He has had works performed across the country, and in 2020 was selected to participate in the Charlotte New Music Festival’s composition workshop to compose a work for the ensemble, Hypercube.
Andrew holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from George Mason University, and is currently back at GMU pursuing a Masters degree in Music Composition. Andrew is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, initiated at the Rho Omicron Chapter in 2013. Outside of music, Andrew is an avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast and a diehard New York Yankees fan.
