But oftentimes it really comes down to just simply not having the time to look to find these new works! Finding music in general can be utterly overwhelming and add in a time crunch…just picking some things from your music library and calling it a day can be quite alluring. As a publisher, we are always on the lookout for fresh and exciting new music to share by equally exciting new composers. Today we are going to offer some of our favorite ways and recommendations for digging up fresh new materials for your next choral, band, or orchestra concert. Let’s make finding new and engaging music a breeze! Facebook Groups and Search: Love it or hate it, but in our opinion, you won’t find a stronger and more active community of composers than on Facebook. Throughout a variety of groups and individual composer pages you will stumble upon an astonishing array of new works just waiting to be shared with your musicians. Wind Ensemble Music Promotions String Orchestra Directors and Composers New Choral Music Creative Repertoire Initiative Composer Collectives: These organizations exist to help living composer's music be seen and curated in a digestible fashion. Take to these group’s websites and find a list of amazing composer’s that certainly have something your group would love. However, we urge you to give them a call! Much of the time browsing online for new music just brings us a lot of the same material and composers we have been playing for years, grab the phone and ask your local store what they have that’s new or recommend for your group.
