Composer Morgan Denney enjoys exploring imaginative textures, psychological themes, and playful manipulation of predictability and humor within her music. Her compositions and arrangements have been performed globally in multiple facets including live concerts, ballet, aerial dance, musical theater, and in performance venues such as the Midwest Clinic. Morgan's work is distributed through self-publishing, Alfred Music, and The FJH Music Company, and can be found on the JW Pepper Editors' Choice List as well as the Texas UIL Prescribed Music List. She contributed music for Mel Bay Publications' Mastering the Violin: a Comprehensive Study for the Adult Learner and has received commissions from ensembles such as Fort Collins Symphony and the Colorado Health & Wellness Orchestra.
Morgan holds a Bachelor's degree in music composition with honors from the University of Colorado-Boulder and a Master's degree in music composition from the University of Miami. Her primary mentors have included Dorothy Hindman, Daniel Kellogg, Lansing McLoskey, and Carter Pann. Based in South Florida, Morgan additionally works as an editor and engraver for multiple music publishing companies and is a freelance violinist. |
