Saying farewell is often the most difficult thing one can do. Just is a musical exemplification of that farewell, with freely moving rhythm and harmonic subversions abounding, for any level of Tenor-Bass ensemble.
Just began as my love letter to the University of North Texas music program. It was my way of saying goodbye to four and a half years of intensive study, endless rehearsals, late nights, and some of the best and worst moments of my life. The text came from a fellow composer, Kevin Rosacia, whose poetry I had come across around social media. After talking with him, he delivered two beautiful texts on the theme of farewell. Set here is the latter, which he did not title.
