biography.Aaron Waldrupe (b. 1995) is an architectural associate, poet, arranger, composer and oboist from Knoxville, Tennessee. Mr. Waldrupe has a B.S. in Physics and Interior Design with a minor in Music from Carson-Newman University and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He writes for a variety of ensembles, frequently arranging hymns for his home church's orchestra to include in their services. Drawing from a variety of historical influences - particularly from the classical and romantic eras - his work relishes in the expressive, often surprising and occasionally quirky, power of music to elicit a deeper experience in the world around us.
He was the winner of the Alpha Gamma chapter of Delta Omicron's composition contest in 2017 and 2018, and recieved special mention in the Flute View's 2014 Composer Contest. Mr. Waldrupe is a registered member of ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers). |
